I narrowed my selections down to 6 finalists and have posted below the results from the PEOPLE'S CHOICE for 1st Place and Runner Up.

How to enter Amateur PHOTO CONTEST:

Upload your best photo to our Fan Page.

Nancy will select the top 6 submissions.

Finalists will be contacted on June 27^th to provide high resolution file (3008x2000 pixels min)

These 6 Finalists will be showcased at the June First Friday

Voting will take place at the studio by those who visit and view your work on 1st Friday (invite people to come out and vote!)

Winner will receive a 1-hour mentoring session with Nancy Thomas [ask questions…tweak your skills]

Winner and 2 top honorable mentions will be featured in local bagel/coffee shop for 1 month.

ELIGIBILITY and RULES:

1. Become a Fan of our Facebook Page.
2. Only amateur photographers are eligible. Anyone who derives less than 5 percent of his or her income from photography is considered an amateur.
3. Anyone can enter. No Age requirement. Students Welcome!
4. Entrant must have captured and created the original exposure. Include photographers name in caption area.
5. A maximum of 2 entries may be submitted per entrant. No two entries shall be of the same subject.
6. Upload photos to the Fan section(others) on our Facebook Page
7. Nancy Thomas will evaluate photos based on originality, artistic composition, photographic technique, and technical execution. Minor digital enhancement is permitted, but significantly modified or unnatural looking images will be disqualified.
8. DEADLINE: June 27^th , 2010 at midnight. Any photos submitted after this date will not be entered into the contest.
9. 6 finalists will be showcased at the studio for First Friday on June 4^th
10. Open voting will take place at the studio.
    

Kicking off May with a Bang!

The Nancy Thomas Photo team kicked off May with a bang! We launched our Premier First Friday in the studio at the Beaman Building in the Glenwood South District. Thank you to everyone who came out to visit.

The incredibly talented Thom Crumpton played on the front porch and provided an amazing atmosphere for event. Visit his Fan page on Facebook and show some love!

Thank you to Dos Taquitos in downtown Raleigh for hosting a great Cinco de Mayo party! We had a blast playing the drums.

Announcing: Amateur Pet Photo Contest! [details to be posted soon]

April First Friday at 101 Lounge & Cafe

Thanks to everyone to came out to visit Nancy Thomas Photo for April's First Friday at 101 Lounge & Cafe. You can still catch Nancy's incredible SPCA pet series for a few more weeks on display.

Saturday, April 17th the SPCA's dog walk will take place in Moore Square. We hope you'll come out and see us and stop by our table to say hello! Nancy and her team of photographers will be canvasing the event getting some great shots for the 2010 SPCA event album.

Photography from the event will be available to view on our website starting April 24th. 100% of proceeds from print orders will be donated to the SPCA of Wake County.

Nancy Thomas Photo will begin hosting FIRST FRIDAY in the studio at 620 W. Lane Street starting May 7th from 7pm - 10pm... or later. We'll be showcasing images from the SPCA's Dog Walk for our 1st event.

REMEMBER 10% of profits from Pet Sessions booked during April & May will be donated back to the SPCA of Wake County.

Introducing "Best Friends" Series in conjunction with the SPCA

I am showcasing my SPCA pet series at 101 Lounge + Cafe for downtown Raleigh's First Friday event on Friday, April 2, 2010. First Friday is produced by Downtown Raleigh Alliance in an effort to showcase local artists. The presentation will also launch my "Best Friends' Pet Series" that will begin in April. 10% of the proceeds from the Best Friends' Pet Photo Sessions booked during the months of April and May will be donated to the SPCA. Examples of this series is featured below.

It's SPCA month so I will be featuring my Dog and SPCA art downstairs as well as Travel Landscape work upstairs.

We will also feature acoustic music by Flip Cup, Robert Shaw and Casey Clark.

Come enjoy food, drinks, great art and music! The music starts around 8pm.
